These were purchased as a Size 13, to fit an solid AFO (this particular AFO is best used with a 1/4” wedge under the heel to help propel the leg more easily through the forward walking phase). They fit true to size. The good foot is able to use the shoe with the orthopedic footbed in place. The bad foot, with the AFO needs space... and the footbed was easy to remove. If you don’t need a wedge, it works fine. And, it works great with the wedge too!The top piece pulls back easily for a simple procedure when applying the shoes. The Velcro on the top flap is very good quality. There should be more variety in shoes with this similar style in the world.Very, very pleased. The only other shoes I have found that are similar, are by a company called Billy Shoes, which have a zipper *around* the top of the foot, in a similar concept. Currently, they are mainly making them for kids with challenges. But, my hope is that they will branch out into more adult footwear.
